You may remember me telling you the story of my mate from Glasgow who paid me a visit about a year ago. Well, he was back for the August Bank Holiday.

We had a jolly time, especially in the early hours of the Sunday Morning, which followed on from the late hours of the Saturday night which, in turn, followed on from Saturday afternoon. In short, we’d been drinking solidly for about eighteen hours when the discussion turned to the Scottish Referendum.

He said he’d be voting ‘No’ because he was scared we wouldn’t let him come south of the border for his annual short breaks to see me in Dorset. I told him that I would definitely vote ‘Yes’ just to be Tory-free forever. By the time the sun came up, we both decided to emigrate to Canada.

But what would your choice be if you were allowed to vote on Thursday, 18 September? Your vote, together with the reasons for your decision, must be with us by 17 September.
