Our obsession with Reality TV and wealth has brought the west to this point. An acceptance of billionaires ruling the planet for their own interests whilst surrounding themselves with ‘politicians’ whose role is to divide and fragment societies. Whist we fight they get richer.
It’s an old idea and yet is still so effective. The solution according to Naomi Klein is to exorcise ourselves of the ‘inner Trump’. The egotistical; racist; misogynist, arrogant narcissist. It appears there are at least some of these in all of us. We must work on reducing or ridding ourselves of them if we are to assemble a society to be proud of.
There is no point electing a Corbyn like figure and then aping the Tories. We must genuinely (not superficially) be in this together.
