Sadly, yet again, I feel morally obliged to inform local people of the depth OUR local council has sunk.
Yesterday I was informed by two worried “dog-friendly” local businesses that they’d been told this shocking tale by a reliable source.
That a law abiding Citizen had been walking her Dog (on a lead) along the Esplanade, quietly enjoying the Autumnal Sunshine, when she decided to put her jacket on, momentarily MOMENTARILY dropping the lead, whilst she secured her second arm in the jackets sleeve, while her well trained dog obediently sat quietly beside her. At which point she was suddenly confronted by TWO Dog-Wardens; Demanding her Personal Details and trying to issues her with a £100 fine! Faced by TWO Wardens, using personal CCTV equipment. Unsurprisingly the Woman felt Harassed, Intimidated, Victimised and Falsely Accused.
Totally within her Rights she refused to give her details and began to walk away, only to be FOLLOWED by the two Wardens for a further 20 mins back to her house!
THIS PETTY VICTIMISATION, HARASSMENT, INTIMIDATION and OUTRAGEOUS BEHAVIOUR HAS GOT TO STOP!
It quite clearly states in the Government’s Guidelines for PSPO , that exceptions should be made if the infringement is TRIVIAL! What could be more TRIVIAL, THAN TRYING TO PUT YOUR JACKET ON!
