Residents and businesses are being thanked by the Weymouth & Portland Mayor for raising £1,649.87 for the Christmas Fund Appeal.

Weymouth & Portland Mayor, Cllr Ray Banham, launched the Christmas Fund Appeal in December along with The Weymouth & Portland Lions Club to help raise money to help improve the lives of people within the community.

Cllr Ray Banham, Weymouth & Portland Mayor, said: “I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Christmas Fund Appeal.

“Many local people have benefitted from your generous donations and I’m very thankful that during difficult economic times people still donate to this great cause and really help make a difference to residents in need at Christmas.”

The Mayor’s Christmas Appeal runs all year round and is open for donations at any time. These can be sent to the Mayor’s Christmas Fund, Council Offices, North Quay, Weymouth DT4 8TA.

Requests for assistance from the fund should also be addressed to the Mayor at the same address.
