Weymouth & Portland Welcomes Jeremy Corbyn

“Today’s gathering in Weymouth – coupled with the discussions we’ve been having online – have been wonderful. Our movement is full of people with the ideas, experience and passion to bring about change in our country.” Jeremy Corbyn

Jeremy Corbyn; Tom Watson and Angela Eagle came to town to spread the message that Labour can win in 2020. With local council elections next month the aim is to bring hope to those who want change and to provide a different message to austerity and privatisation. Housing shortages; low wages and the school academy programme were in their sights as they focused upon the failure and ideological calamity that is the Tory party. However their message is very much of hope and community cohesion and the reversal of decades of the erosion of caring for others.

All three talked to locals and mixed with local Labour members answering questions and discussing local issues.

Having been at the Tolpuddle Festival last year and due to appear again this year Mr Corbyn appears to be getting as close to the voters up and down the country as is possible to hear them for himself. Although I would strongly advise him to avoid the ‘I’m Clueless Get Me Out Of Here’ brigade who line up on the Dorset Echo comments page. They read The Sun after they have wiped their colon outlet on it and then share it around. Lucky us eh?

If you prefer what he actually says then might I suggest https://www.jeremycorbyn.org.uk

You may also like to join ‘Corbyn Community Dorset’ (on Facebook) who meet monthly if you consider that you would like to be proactive in bringing communities together and making them stronger.
