Jurassic Coast Auctions at Value House, Wyke Regis, Weymouth have joined forces with local charity the ‘Hidden Needs Trust’ to help raise money for the Opportunity Groups in Dorchester, Blandford, Yeovil and Taunton that support children and their families with special educational needs. Jurassic Coast Auctions will be donating 10% of its profits in 2016 to the charity and are sponsoring the Weymouth leg of Rachel’s ‘Epic Run 2016’. Rachel Goodfellow from the ‘Hidden Needs Trust’ will be running 26 marathons over 26 days throughout Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Wiltshire during June and July. One of Rachel’s 26 marathons will be via Weymouth on Friday 24th June where Rachel will be arriving at the Jubilee Clock approx. 12 noon and will resume her run at 1.30 pm to finish the day at Lulworth Cove.  Giving plenty of time for people to come along meet Rachel and say hello.

Glenn Chadwick says “These groups are so cash strapped these days, without them the kids and their families would have nowhere to go or anyone to turn to. I met Rachel last year in my capacity of Deputy Portland Mayor and her work and dedication to these groups made a lasting impression on my mind. When we spoke earlier this year about her ‘Epic Run’ I had to get involved.”

Rachel Goodfellow from The Hidden Needs Trust continues “My aim is to raise money and awareness for children, their families and the Opportunity Groups that look after and support them. These groups are the children’s and families life line, unfortunately with all the austerity cuts, funding for groups like this are being drastically cut or even stopped. Without goodwill and fund raising many of these groups would close. Without these vital support groups there is nowhere else for them to turn but thanks to the kind of support that Jurassic Coast Auctions is giving us we can help these groups and keep them open.”

Glenn Chadwick took over the 3000 square metre site at Value House, Wyke Regis, Weymouth at the beginning of January 2016. Jurassic Coast Auctions run auctions every Sunday at 10.30am and each one contains a cornucopia of lots, ranging from collectables to electrical appliances. Jurassic Coast Auctions have stream lined the whole process by investing in the latest auction technology to make buying or selling easy and accessible to everyone. It’s fun and easy to do if you are a buyer or a seller. Lots for each week’s auction can be dropped off right up until 3pm on a Friday and the site is open for viewings Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm and 6pm on Fridays.  The low commission fees and BACS payments directly into your bank account make auctioning a cost effective way for disposing of unwanted goods.
