Weymouth Man Charged Following Robbery With Imitation Firearm

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a reported robbery in Weymouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 6.26am on Wednesday 11 December 2024 of a robbery at the Morrisons Daily store at the Littlemoor Shopping Centre.

It was reported that a member of staff was threatened with a suspected air weapon and assaulted, sustaining minor injuries as a result.

Following detailed enquiries by detectives from Dorset County CID, a 44-year-old man from Weymouth has been arrested and charged with attempted robbery and having an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 21 February 2025 and is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 27 March 2025.

A 27-year-old man from Weymouth who was previously arrested in connection with the incident has been released without charge.
