Round the Horne 
Thursday 3 February, Theatre, 7.45pm 
With its infamous movie spoofs and hilarious regular characters such as Rambling Sid Rumpo, Charles and Fiona, J Peasemold Gruntfuttock, and Julian and Sandy, Round the Horne was one of the biggest and best radio comedy shows of all time, and still endures today. 

The Ballad of Mulan

Woman, warrior, legend. For ten years Mulan disguised as a man, has fought for the Chinese Empire. Now the fighting is coming to an end, one last battle and she will be going home – but can she return to her old life and become a woman again? The story of the real Chinese heroine that inspired Disney’s animation and live-feature Mulan

MET Opera Encore: Rigoletto

Tony Award­–winning director Bartlett Sher’s bold new take on Verdi’s timeless tragedy finds the action reset in 1920s Europe. 

Ardent8 Ensemble: RETHINK  
Friday 4 February, Sherling Studio, 8pm 
A new piece of work created by Ardent8 ensemble in collaboration with Andrew Muir and developed at Lighthouse as part of its Sanctuary artist residency scheme. RETHINK is a play about Graduation Day 2020, when six graduates from a performing arts course are encouraged to think again, in the wake of theatre closures and lack of opportunity.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger, Richard Gere and Queen Latifah in Rob Marshall’s energetic film adaptation of the classic stage musical shown on our new state-of-the-art cinema experience in the Theatre. 

Holistic Festival

A hugely popular event with a fabulous array of stands to explore, therapies to try and a first class series of 40 talks and workshops, plus the perennially popular children’s programme and clairvoyance show, it promises to be a wonderful, bright weekend.

Strictly Stage Theatre School: On Your Feet 
Sunday 6 February, Theatre, 7.30pm 
The leading performing arts academy is back with a celebration of musical theatre that captures the historical energy of the infamous Queens in Six, the Barricades of the French Revolution in Les Mis and the Latino-Cuban vibe of Gloria Estefan’s award-winning On Your Feet among many more. 

James Wilton Dance: The Four Seasons 
Tuesday 8 February, Theatre, 8pm 
One of Europe’s most in demand dance companies presents The Four Seasons. Using Max Richter’s recomposed version of Vivaldi’s seminal work James Wilton Dance has created a work of immense physicality, driving energy and sweeping beauty. 

The Sharon Shannon Quartet 
Wednesday 9 February, Theatre, 8pm 
Button accordion player Sharon Shannon has recorded and toured with a who’s who of the Irish and Global music industry, including Bono, Adam Clayton, Sinead O’Connor, Jackson Browne, John Prine, Steve Earle, The RTE Concert Orchestra, The Chieftains, The Waterboys, Willie Nelson, Nigel Kennedy, Alison Krauss and Shane MacGowan. 

Live and Unheard: DD Allen + Southern Brotherhood + Rich Atkinson 
Thursday 10 February, Sherling Studio, 7.30pm 
The monthly grass roots music showcase marks the return of DD Allen whose last show here sold out, with Dorset-based blues rockers Southern Brotherhood and self-styled ‘Narrative Americana’ singer songwriter Rich Atkinson.  

In Conversation with Stacey Dooley

Inspired by Stacey’s two most recent documentaries on mental health, spend a very special evening with the popular broadcaster as she opens up conversations about mental health in young people, to challenge the stigma and stereotypes around it.

Studio Jazz: Albuca with Adrian Utley 
Friday 11 February, Sherling Studio, 8pm 
Composer/producer/musician Adrian Utley, founder of Bristol trip-hop pioneers Portishead, joins new jazz supergroup, Albuca, whose 2020 debut album he produced. Albuca’s core quartet have worked with the likes of Gregory Porter, Jamie Cullum, Radiohead, Amy Winehouse and Bobby Hutcherson.

Groan Ups

Something a little different from the creators of The Play That Goes Wrong, Groan Ups follows an unruly classroom of six-year-olds on their journey through the anarchic high school teenage years to the challenges of adulthood.  

NT Live: The Book of Dust – La Belle Sauvage

Set 12 years before the epic His Dark Materials trilogy, this gripping adaptation revisits Philip Pullman’s fantastical world in which waters are rising and storms are brewing. Adapted by Bryony Lavery, directed by Nicholas Hytner.

BSC: Carmina Burana

Carl Orff’s enduringly popular choral classic is presented by Bournemouth Symphony Chorus, Youth Chorus and BSO Resonate. 

The Dark

Laszlo is afraid of the dark. The dark lives in the basement. It doesn’t visit Laszlo in his room. Until one night it does…  Join Lazlo on his journey to meet the dar and find out why it will never bother him again. Peut-Etrê Theatre merge vibrant physicality with live music to create captivating and energetic performances for the whole family. The Dark is accessible for blind and visually impaired children through integrated audio-description and touch tours. Age guidance: 5+ 

The Amazing Bubble Man

The Spirit of the Dance: 20th Anniversary Tour

It’s a new day at Sittingbottom school and Frog is looking for a place to sit, but Cat has other ideas and Dog is doing as he’s told. Little do any of them know that chaos is coming… The Olivier Award nominated West End production of Kes Gray and Jim Field’s bestselling books promises songs, puppets, laughs and more rhymes than you can shake a chime at.

From the live final of Stars in Their Eyes to being hired by George Michael’s management to promote the 25Live album, this is a performer in a different league. Few tribute artists capture George’s musical talent, charisma and passion as closely as Rob Lamberti. 

Studio Jazz: Misha Mullov-Abbado Group

Adventurous and very engaging, Misha’s group play the bassist’s own compositions and arrangements, with a broad variety of influences, from jazz, classical and pop to folk traditions from around the world heavily based on swing, funk and other groove-based styles.

Coastal Comedy Colossal
