Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward following a fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Purbeck.

Dorset Police received a report at 9.15am on Friday 26 July 2024 of a collision involving a van and a motorbike on Corfe Road near Corfe Castle.

It was reported that the motorcycle collided with the embankment after taking evasive action to avoid a white van.

The driver of the white van reportedly failed to stop at the scene.

The motorcyclist – a man aged in his 70s – was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious neck injury.

Police Constable Rob Cook, of Wareham police, said: “An investigation is underway and we would like to hear from any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, who have not already spoken to police.

“I would also urge the driver of the white van to please do the right thing and get in touch with us so we can take your account of the incident.”
