‘Why I like living in Weymouth and Portland’ writing competition launched by Mayor

Weymouth and Portland Mayor Cllr Kate Wheller invites children of all ages to take part in her writing competition ‘Why I like living in Weymouth and Portland’.

The competition will run through the spring term with judging taking place in the Easter holiday. Prizes will be awarded to the top three in each age group as well as to the schools in which the winners attend.

Winners will be invited to the Mayor’s parlour where they will be presented with their prizes.

Cllr Kate Wheller said: “I am pleased to launch this writing competition and I look forward to reading all the reasons why the children like living in Weymouth and Portland so much.

“I’d also like to thank local businesses Prospect Patents and Sirius Business Solutions for kindly sponsoring the competition.”

All schools in Weymouth and Portland have now received an invitation to take part in the competition.
