It has become easy to blame local authorities instead of central government especially if the local authority does not, either in part or, entirely reflect our political sympathies.
However, when considering the incidents at Durdle Door and more recently at the beach at Bournemouth the facts paint a very specific picture. Central government could have prevented them but local authorities had their hands tied.
I myself made the error of attaching some blame in my recent article for Dorset Eye but now realise I may have been misguided and am very thankful to be corrected and enlightened.
This thread clearly explains why.
Ever since the Dominic Cummings fiasco was swept under the carpet the government lost any sincerity high ground on social distancing.
Even the Health Secretary himself was caught ignoring it:
Unless everyone adjusts their behaviour for themselves and ignores the government rhetoric we will be literally following those who do not abide by their own guidance. From the outset the Prime Minister himself did his own thing and much of it had little to do with science:
The moral of the story?
Do not attach ourselves and defend the rhetoric and behaviour of people who care not one jot about us. Do our own research and learn with an open mind.
