SUN 04    POWERSTOCK BUTTERFLIES

A Dorset Wildlife Trust  Kingcombe Centre Sunday Stroll on Powerstock Common with Keith Miller.  Powerstock reserve is made up of ancient woodland, damp grassland, sunny glades, a network of open rides and damp flower-filled ditches, all ideal for butterflies.  At this time of year expect to see wood and marbled whites and the impressively large silver-washed fritillary. .

Join tutor Bill Grayson at the Dorset Wildlife Trust Kingcombe Centre and gain an insight into the different ways that grazing livestock and the associated systems of  forage production can be used to deliver a wide range of habitat management objectives.  The course will also provide information on practical aspects such as livestock welfare or the design of grazing regimes in the relevant economic and administrative contexts.  Cost: £325.00 ( £260.00  non-residential ).

A Dorset Wildlife Trust  Kingcombe Centre Sunday Stroll around Kingcombe with Tony Bates.  Immerse your self in the sights and smells of high summer at Kingcombe.  Expect to find the conspicuous Devil’s bit scabious and the striking ‘eggs & bacon’, bird’s-foot-trefoil, in bloom.  Ringlets, marbled whites and meadow browns on the wing, look out for some the last swifts and swallows before autumn arrives..
