SAT 5 WILD LORTON DAY – ‘BIRD BOXES’, 10am – 4pm.  The Centre is open for visitors, come along for a walk around the reserve, follow a self-guided trail, drop in for a hot drink, watch the birds on screen, & peruse our selection of wildlife books & ID guides.  Help us make some bird boxes to put up on the reserve & to take home (£5/box to cover cost of materials).  No unaccompanied children.  Fine Foundation Chesil Beach Centre, Portland Road, Weymouth,  DT4 9XE.   

SUN 6 BIRDS OF CHESIL, THE FLEET & PORTLAND HARBOUR, 1 – 2.30pm.  A guided walk looking at the gulls, wading birds & geese along Chesil Beach & the Fleet with local naturalist Sean Foote.  Meet at the Chesil Beach Centre.  Adults £3, Children £2.  Fine Foundation Chesil Beach Centre, Portland Road, Weymouth,  DT4 9XE.   

SUN 6 OPTICRON OPTICS DAY, Chesil Beach Centre, Portland Road, Weymouth,  DT4 9XE.  10am – 4pm.  Looking to buy some new binoculars or a telescope?  Rob Laughton from Opticron will also be on hand to give expert advice on optics. Try out a large range of binoculars and scopes whilst viewing the spectacular wildlife of Chesil & the Fleet Lagoon.  

SUN 6 EAST DORSET/ARC WORK PARTY, 10am – approx 2.30pm.  Lend a hand with practical conservation work at Parley Common.  Meet at the Barrack Lane entrance at SZ 094993. FRI 25 – MON 28LORTON EGGSPLORERS TRAIL, 10.30am – 4pm.  Become an amazing eggsplorer for the day at Lorton Meadows!  Collect a trail guide from the Conservation Centre & hunt for clues around the reserve to find clues about the local wildlife & solve a mystery.  Don’t forget to return to the Centre to claim your edible prize!  Why not make a day of it & enjoy a picnic too.
