Wilts and Dorset People’s Assembly…

Martyrs' Tree

On Sunday the 21st July under the Martyrs’ Tree in Tolpuddle, 25 people from the two counties met to form the Wilts and Dorset People’s Assembly.

A few of us had met in London at the national event and I organised the gathering with a Facebook Page and emailing everyone I could.

For Dorset, 19 people coming from across the County was significant, though possibly half the politically motivated who are not prepared to listen to the rubbish Westminster spouts about “cuts being the only way”, echoing their banker masters…

On that sunny day I felt that the two Counties could send a bus to the Tory Conference in Manchester on the 29th. I felt that across the county we can cause mayhem on November 5th. We as a group felt that it is possible.

We are a coalition of groups and interests from BPACC to the South West TUC to Dorset Socialists, even the Lib Dems and Labour were among our number. At the London event we were told to return in Spring representing organisations not just ourselves. Job done?
