Witness appeal after a 50-year-old local man sustained serious head injuries in Bournemouth town centre

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was seriously assaulted in Bournemouth town centre.

Dorset Police was called by the ambulance service at 3.25am today, Friday 9 August 2019, to reports of an assault on a man at The Triangle.

A 50-year-old local man sustained serious head injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is not life-threatening.

A full investigation is underway to identify the offender and a cordon is currently in place in The Triangle while an examination of the scene is carried out.

Inspector Nick Lee, of Dorset Police, said: “An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of this incident.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of The Triangle at the relevant time and saw or heard anything suspicious to please contact Dorset Police.”
