Witness appeal after woman found injured in Gillingham

Detectives investigating an incident where a woman was found injured in Gillingham are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 12.05am on Saturday 30 May 2020 that a woman had been found with a head injury in the area of Addison Close. She was taken to hospital for treatment.

Following enquiries, a 33-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is assisting detectives with their enquiries.

Detective Constable George Graham, of Weymouth CID, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation to establish how the woman came to be injured and I am appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed or heard a disturbance or any suspicious activity in the area of Addison Close on the night of Friday 29 May 2020. I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area to check their dashcam footage and residents to check any home CCTV for anything relevant that night.

“Finally, I would encourage anyone who has come across any discarded items such as clothing in the area to contact us.”
