Officers investigating a road traffic collision in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward. 

At approximately 10.30am on Thursday 21 May 2020 a collision occurred on the B3155 Preston Road at the junction with the turning to the Weymouth Household Recycling Centre. The collision involved a black Volkswagen Golf and a white Honda motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man from Portland aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment by the ambulance service. His injuries were initially thought to be minor, but it has now been established that he sustained a broken pelvis.

Police Constable Andy Dickinson, of Weymouth police, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into this collision, which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision to please get in touch.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who may have relevant dashcam footage.”
