Witness appeal following assault of a boy in Wimborne

Officers investigating an assault in Wimborne are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police was called at 6.41pm on Sunday 19 June 2020 to reports of an assault on a 16-year-old boy at Eye Bridge. The incident is reported to have occurred at around 3pm the same day. 

It is reported the boy was out with friends when two other boys approached and abused them before leaving the area. It is alleged they returned with other teenage boys and assaulted the boy.

The victim sustained cuts to his nose, a lump on his head and other injuries to his body.

Police Constable Laura Nairn, of East Dorset police, said: “Officers attended to speak to the boy and his family and a full investigation is underway into the incident.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or may have information to assist my investigation, to please get in touch.”
