Witness appeal following serious collision in Holton Heath

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward following a serious injury collision in Holton Heath.

At around 8.45pm yesterday, Tuesday 2 October 2018, a serious road traffic collision occurred involving a grey Victory Octane motorcycle and a white Vauxhall Astra on the A351 Wareham Road near to Holton Heath Park Homes.

The motorcyclist, a Bournemouth man aged in his 50s, sustained serious life-changing injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Vauxhall, a Wareham woman aged in her 20s, was uninjured.

Police Sergeant Lee Savage, of the traffic unit, said: “Officers are carrying out a full investigation to establish the exact circumstances of the collision.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have captured it on dashcam to contact me.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may information relating to the manner of driving or riding of the vehicles involved prior to the collision.

“Finally, I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding during road closures that were put on last night to allow the emergency services to deal with the incident and for an examination of the scene to take place.”
