Witnesses Sought Following Robbery and Criminal Damage in Poole

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a reported robbery at a store in Poole.

It was reported that at around 10.15am on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, a man entered Meadowbrook Produce in Herbert Avenue and went behind the counter, where he picked up a set of knives and a knife sharpener.

He is then reported to have threatened a staff member with the knife sharpener and taken cash from the till before leaving the scene in a silver Volkswagen Golf. Damage was also reportedly caused to the store during the incident.

Following enquiries by officers, a 50-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and criminal damage. He has been released on police bail as detectives continue their investigation.

Detective Constable Niki Edwards, of BCP CID, said: “We have carried out extensive enquiries into this incident, which have resulted in a man being arrested in connection with the matter.

“We are continuing to investigate what happened and from our enquiries, we understand there were a number of people in the area of the store around the relevant time.

“I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260005545. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
