Woman assaulted at Littlemoor’s Doctor’s Surgery

Officers investigating an alleged assault in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

It is reported that at around 9.15pm on Saturday 1 July 2023 a woman was assaulted on the stairs near to Littlemoor Doctors Surgery.

During the incident, it is alleged that the victim’s mobile phone was damaged.

A 29-year-old local man – who is known to the victim – was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage. He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Police Constable Joseph Garrard, of Weymouth police, said: “I understand there was a member of the public in the area, who was possibly a taxi driver, and attempted to intervene in the incident.

“I would ask them to please make contact with me as they may have important information to help my enquiries.

“Also, I am keen to speak to anyone else who may have witnessed what happened.”
