Officers investigating a fatal road traffic collision in West Dorset are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 9.06pm on Monday 6 September 2021 of a single vehicle collision involving a yellow Renault tractor, which was equipped with a front end loader and a rear fitted hay bobber, on Hackney near Corscombe.

The driver of the tractor – a local woman aged in her 60s – was very sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been informed.

Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for an examination of the collision scene to take place.

Police Sergeant Rhys Griffiths, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who very sadly died.

“A thorough investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of the collision and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from any motorists who were driving in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public while the area was cordoned off as this allowed to us to respond in a safe manner and carry out a detailed examination of the scene.”
