Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward as they investigate a report of a fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Ferndown.

At around 10.20am on Thursday 14 December 2023, a collision occurred at the crossing for the Turbary roundabout on the A347 Ringwood Road involving a pedestrian and a car.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, sustained injuries to her legs that are not currently believed to be serious.

It was reported that the driver of the vehicle – a white Kia Rio – initially stopped at the scene but then drove off without leaving any details. Following enquiries, a local woman in her 70s is due to attend for voluntary police interview.

Police Constable Mia Jakeman, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to make enquiries into this incident and I am keen for anyone with information who has not already contacted police to please come forward.

“I would urge anyone who was driving in the area with dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please review their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk/contact or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230195657. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
