Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a collision in Ferndown.
A woman driving a silver car left the scene of a collision in Ferndown before police officers arrived, Dorset Police has said.
The incident happened at around 5pm on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, in Church Road and involved a black Nissan Qashqai and a silver car.
No injuries were reported following the collision.
Officers attended the scene and arrested a 49-year-old woman from Ferndown on suspicion of driving offences. She has since been released on police bail while enquiries into the circumstances of the incident continue.
Police Constable Halle Meeks, of Dorset Police, said officers were continuing to establish exactly what happened and were urging anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
She said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this collision and are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.
“We understand that details were exchanged between those involved but the driver of the silver car left the scene before the arrival of officers and we have not yet been able to locate her.
“If this was you, please get in touch as we are keen to speak with you to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
Police are particularly keen to hear from motorists who were travelling along Church Road at around the time of the incident and may have witnessed the collision or captured footage on a vehicle-mounted camera.
The appeal is also directed towards the driver of the silver car, who police say they have not yet been able to locate.
