Woman seriously injured following collision in Christchurch

Officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward after a road traffic collision in Christchurch.

Dorset Police received a report at 1.19pm on Thursday 9 February 2023 of a collision involving a blue Ford Fiesta and a cyclist on Wharncliffe Road at the junction with Beacon Drive.

The cyclist – a local woman aged in her 50s – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Police Constable Sarah Dutton, of Dorset Police, said: “I am carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened and would ask any witnesses to please come forward.

“I would also like to appeal directly to any motorists who were travelling in the vicinity around the relevant time to please check their dashcam for footage of the incident or the moments leading up to it.”
