Officers are investigating a serious road traffic collision in Bournemouth and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 2.20am on Sunday 11 June 2023 of a collision involving a black BMW and a pedestrian in Poole Hill.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian – a woman aged in her 20s – was taken to Poole General Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Following enquiries, a 19-year-old Bournemouth woman was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

Road closures were put in place as the emergency services responded to the incident and enquiries at the scene were conducted.

Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of the traffic unit, said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this collision and I am keen to speak to any witnesses who may be able to assist our enquiries.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who were in the vicinity and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
