Woman Taxi Driver in Serious Condition Following Collision in West Dorset

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward as they investigate a road traffic collision in West Dorset.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.09pm on Thursday, 8 January 2026, of a collision involving a red Mitsubishi and a taxi on the A356 in South Perrot.

Emergency services attended and the driver of the taxi, a woman aged in her 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

A 65-year-old man from West Dorset was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and has since been released under investigation. 

Police Constable Jamie Randell, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been carrying out detailed enquiries into this incident and are keen to hear from any witnesses to the incident, or the manner of the vehicles involved prior to the collision, to please make contact with us.

“I would also urge any motorists with dashcam who were travelling in the vicinity around the relevant time to please check their footage for anything that might assist our investigation.”
