Beyond Evil!
“Today I saw a picture of a weeping Palestinian man holding a plastic carrier bag of meat. It was his son. He’d been shredded (the hospital’s word) by an Israeli missile attack – apparently using their fab new weapon, flechette bombs. You probably know what those are – hundreds of small steel darts packed around explosive which tear the flesh off humans. The boy was Mohammed Khalaf al-Nawasra. He was 4 years old.”
I’ve done some research, which led to these discoveries:
1. The flechette bombs aren’t ‘new’ – Israel have been using them against Palestinians and others for well over 20 years (since 2001)!
2. The bombs do not contain ‘hundreds’ of these steel darts. Each bomb normally contains 5,000!
3. The flechette bombs are fired from tanks and explode in mid-air, spraying 5,000 of these 3.75cm long steel darts onto an area of approximately 300 x 94 metres (covering an area of about 4 football pitches!)

An Israeli military spokesman told the BBC that “flechettes were used for their precision, adding they were no more deadly than regular tank shells.” !!!!! Anyone who has watched the lies that spew from their current military leadership will not be surprised.

2014 – Guardian:
As well as Irael’s use of flechette bombs, the article also noted: “The Israeli military deployed artillery shells containing white phosphorous in densely populated areas of Gaza during Operation Cast Lead in 2008 and 2009, causing scores of deaths and extensive burns. It initially issued a categorical denial of reports of the use of white phosphorous but later admitted it, saying the weapon was only used to create smokescreens.” Yup……

States that the weapons are “described as illegal under ‘rules of humanitarian law’ by an Israeli human rights organisation.”

“Israeli authorities have reportedly used flechettes in Gaza since at least 2001. That year, Israeli officials stated that “The Israeli military obtained these weapons from the USA after the 1973 war and we have thousands of old shells in warehouses.” What a surprise – they were used by the US in Vietnam and the US then supplied them to Israel.
It also says: “The 70 mm Hydra 70 rocket currently in service with the US Armed forces can be fitted with an anti-personnel (APERS) warhead containing 1,179 flechettes. They are carried by attack helicopters such as the AH-64 Apache and the AH-1 Cobra.” So, they are still in ‘service’ by the US. In ‘service!’
