We have some positive news to share.
Thanks to the relentless efforts of sabs and supporters, this bloodsport group is no more. Wildlife in this corner of the countryside can now rest easier. One down, many to go.
Good riddance!
Many of you will know that the North Down Hunt has been dwindling over the last number of years. We have long foreseen an end on the horizon for them. This year it has finally come! They are finished.
We know this will come as welcome news to the supporters of wildlife and to every right-thinking person who stands against bloodsports.
The demise of the hunt is no doubt due to many factors, but we would like to think it was in large part down to the dogged determination of sabs over the years, who have braved early mornings, cold and wet weather, and hostile hunters.
Of course this is just one hunt out of many across the country, and so the fight is not over. But at least wildlife in this wee corner of the countryside will sleep a wee bit more soundly.
Thank you to everyone who has helped bring about this result through direct action, campaigning, and tip offs – we are on the right side of history.
Good riddance to the North Down Hunt. Long runs the fox!
