The following is a political statement from ‘Your Party’.
(This statement sets out broad principles and purpose. It is not a programme or a
manifesto – policies will be decided through the party’s democracy).
Your Party is a democratic, member-led socialist party that stands for peace,
equality, social justice and international solidarity.
Its goal is the transfer of wealth and power, now concentrated in the hands of the
few, to the overwhelming majority in a democratic, socialist society.
Its task is to build a mass party for the many that represents and is rooted in the
broadest possible social coalition with the working class at its heart.
Your Party’s aim is not only to win elections with a popular programme for real
change, but to shift the balance of power at every level of society: organising and
campaigning in communities and workplaces, trade unions and social movements
across the nations and regions.
Your Party is committed to equality across society and opposed to all forms of
prejudice, discrimination and scapegoating, which are weaponised by the ruling
elites to divide people and communities.
The party stands for freedom for the many – from poverty, war and oppression –
and in defence of democratic rights and liberties.
It shares in the worldwide opposition to a global system of imperial domination,
colonisation and exploitation, and supports movements for national liberation and
self-determination.
Both at home and abroad, Your Party stands against the war economy and the
neoliberal capitalist order fuelling the climate crisis and grotesque levels of
inequality – and in favour of public and community ownership of key economic
sectors and services.
Billionaires and corporations are now in control of our country. Your Party aims at
its democratic and socialist transformation by redistributing that power and
wealth to all.
