52 year old Portland man charged by police

A man has been charged with a public order offence in connection with a reported disturbance on Portland.

Dorset Police was called at around 8.30pm on Saturday 21 November 2020 to reports of a disturbance in the area of St Georges Estate Road, in which a local man was allegedly being threatened by another man. No injuries were sustained.  

A 52-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the incident and has now been charged with using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence. He is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 17 February 2021.
