In a year that sees Artsreach celebrate 25 years of touring professional performances throughout rural Dorset, the arts scheme is uniting once more with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra to present four ensemble concerts at venues across the county. With a range of music from across the ages, these chamber concerts will be a delightful chance to experience these outstanding performers in an intimate setting.
The first of these concerts takes place in Studland, with the BSO Principal Winds quintet performing five outstanding works that explore the different colours made possible by assorted blends of the instruments. The attractive programme ranges from music of the Classical period to leading composers from the early 20thcentury. Pieces range from Debussy’s Syrinx for solo flute, to Danzi’s Quintet in B flat, while works by Hallam (a former member of the orchestra), Ibert and Hindemith will also feature. Set to be a real highlight of this special Artsreach season, early booking is advised.
