Year after year, month after month, day after day we are told by yet another gullible buffoon that Labour spend our money like water and cannot be trusted with our economy. Then along comes a fact that should blow them out of the water forever. The Tories under Margaret Thatcher and John Major created debt but didn’t pay it off (except 1988 & 1989). They were in an almost permanent deficit. Labour created debt between 1998 and 2001 and paid it all off. They were in surplus.

Between 1979 and 2016 the Labour Party have been in a surplus twice as much as the Tories. Staggering given the propaganda that the Telegraph, Mail, Express, Sun, Star, Times…etc shove down our throats.

It should also be recognised that the debt we are currently lumbered with was created by the private sector not the public sector and yet the Tories have chosen to punish the public sector. Why? Over to the perceptive amongst you.

Imagine if the media was balanced and put the facts first. How many times would the electorate have chosen a Tory government over a Labour one? Of course we will never know but there are many amongst you who can make an educated guess.

Then there is all this bunkum about ‘aspiration’. Come on who falls for that nonsense? If the Tories or Labour had been serious about ‘aspiration’ they would have gone out of their way to reduce inequality and raise social mobility. Instead we have one of the worst records amongst developed countries and appear to be aping the worst – the USA – instead of looking north to Scandinavia or Canada or south to Germany. Why is it that so many continue to be fooled or want to be fooled?

Social mobility

Next time someone raises this issue and tries to deceive you ask them for evidence. When they have finished wittering give it to them
