Following a rigorous tender process, the Visit Dorset Tourism Partnership has awarded a new 5 year contract to New Mind|tellUs to provide a Destination Management System and major re-design of www.visit-dorset.com, the official tourism destination website for Dorset.
The new project will involve the development of a fully responsive destination website, which will build on the significant success of the current visit-dorset.com site. The website will incorporate all the latest technology innovations to inform and entice visitors to Dorset, boosting visitor numbers and in turn growing the local visitor economy.
Visit Dorset is already an established and recognised brand both nationally and internationally, is the official visitor website for Dorset and features on all national VisitEngland marketing activity.
The visit-dorset.com website currently receives 2 million visits per annum and is supported by over 700 local tourism businesses and is a primary marketing tool for the partnership, acting as a promotional platform to showcase Dorset’s fantastic and varied tourism offer.
The area’s tourism providers will benefit from improved representation and new commercial opportunities will be introduced whilst enhancing the overall visitor experience. There will also be a dedicated area to support the local tourism industry to keep them up to date with all the latest industry research, news and opportunities.
Nick Thornley, on behalf of the Visit Dorset Tourism Partnership, said “We are looking forward to working with NewMind|tellUs to enhance our current digital offer. Our aim is to support Dorset’s tourism businesses whilst providing visitors to our site with the optimum experience that they expect from a leading destination website, both in terms of being inspired, as well as providing the necessary tools to easily plan and book their visit to Dorset.”
NewMind|tellUs is a global new-media company specialising in the tourism sector with more than 100 destination clients. Their submission highlighted an in-depth experience and understanding of the tourism landscape and the ability of the e-tourism platform to meet the Visit Dorset Tourism Partnership’s aims and objectives.
