Brewery Square in Dorchester is set to host a family fun day raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital and Butterflies on Saturday June 3.

One Great Day will take place in the main hub of Brewery Square from 10am until 4pm. There will be a variety of children’s activities including face painting and a quiz. There’ll also be live music, market stalls, street food and fitness in the Square with Anytime Fitness.

One Great Day at Brewery Square will raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital, a charity dedicated to finding new and better ways to treat childhood illnesses. The event will also raise funds for Butterflies, a charity that supports children with disabilities by providing specialised equipment, child development aids and training courses.

At the fundraising event, visitors can enjoy the delights of various food producers, including Jurassic Cottage Foods serving jams, chutneys, fresh pies and cakes, as well as Street Food Market favourites such as Bubble Tea and The Emporium Pizza.

Anytime Fitness will host fitness sessions from 10am – 12pm in the Square. There will be two SlimDance sessions (10am and 11.20am, lasting for a total of 40 minutes); this is a high energy, fat burning cardio class which uses basic choreography in a variety of dance styles. There will also be a Circuits session at 10.45am, lasting for 30 minutes.

Live music will follow the fitness sessions from 12 – 4pm, with performances from Shermaine Bull and Sophie Green, both aged 13, as well as performances from Dorchester Performing Arts Group and Julie Storey’s Let’s Dance group.

Charlotte Spracklen, centre manager at Brewery Square, said: “There’s plenty in store for visitors on One Great Day in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital and Butterflies. We’re pleased to be able to support these two great causes.”

Mike Coombes, club manager at Anytime Fitness in Dorchester, said: “We are looking forward to seeing lots of people enjoying the activities and entertainment at Brewery Square to support these great causes! Anyone is welcome to join in with our fun fitness sessions. It will indeed be One Great Day!”
