Public appeal in search for missing Wareham man

Officers searching for missing Wareham man Brett Candy are pleased to confirm he has been found safe and well.

Brett, aged 54, was reported missing having last been seen at his home address in the early hours of Saturday 4 April 2020.

Following searches by officers, he has now been located in the Wareham area.

We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal.

Officers are appealing for help from the public as they search for a missing man from Wareham.

Brett Candy, aged 54, was last seen at his home address in Barnhill Road at around 4am on Saturday 4 April 2020. He was reported missing at 12.45pm on Thursday 9 April 2020.

Brett is described as white, five feet five inches tall and of stocky build with dark brown hair. He has a tattoo on his back of a British Bulldog and he has a gold tooth. 

He left his address riding a black mountain bike and wearing a pink helmet.

Chief Inspector Lindsay Dudfield, of Dorset Police, said: “It is out of character for Brett to be away from home and not contact his family for this period of time and we are becoming concerned for his welfare.

“We are carrying out searches in the area and I am appealing to anyone with information as to Brett’s whereabouts, or who sees a man matching the description given, to please contact us immediately.

“I would also urge Brett if you see this appeal to please get in touch with us or your family so we can make sure you are safe and well.”
