Racists in uniforms hurt and kill people. Whether the UK, US, Australia… it does not make a difference. If they are conditioned to hate and offload their grievances on to others and then given a uniform, a badge and sometimes a gun there will always be a significant number of people who feel threatened by those who are meant to protect them.

Sometimes it is the indigenous people’s who become the victims of those who took from them what was not theirs to take.

John Pilger has dedicated his working life to exposing the cruelty that can be inflicted by power and authority on to others and this is from his birth country.

What is also important to remember is that besides the violence and the threat of violence is the robbery of natural resources that leaves many poor, destitute, miserable and dead. White imperialism is only part of the problem. The majority of white people themselves are also robbed and looted by those in power but without the added ingredient of racism.

Racism makes the whole relationship more lethal.
