The minimum expectation of any government has to be that they will keep its people safe. Unfortunately the present government have completely failed to do that, and the future looks even more dismal!
Mismanaging the Coronavirus pandemic, through empty promises, confusing messages, repeated failures on testing, PPE and moving to lockdown too slowly, the government is now seeking a deal with the USA, undermining food standards, allowing cheap, substandard meat into our food chain. Undercutting our farmers and driving them into bankruptcy.
Many Americans are unhappy about the widespread use of growth hormones, steroids and antibiotics in their meat industry. Natural birth in cows has been replaced by farmers forced to pull over-sized calves from the heavily pregnant, straining cows, heavily drugged with growth hormones.
Widespread use of antibiotics has increased bacterial resistance in American cattle, resistance passed on to humans when the tainted meat is eaten. The long term effects how the steroids increase the rate of resistance to antibiotics in animals and subsequently in humans is still unclear to scientists.
In America hormone free meat is a premium product, with some US authorities recommend that it is safer to buy and eat European meat!
Johnson and his controller, Cummings, not content with 60,000 deaths from the virus, now want to add tainted meat to our huge heath problems. Johnson and Cummings will make sure they don’t eat such suspect food, that is for the rest of us, the mere plebs! The damage to the nation’s health and the farming economy is simply ignored by this blinkered pair.
