Was in Sainsburys at lunchtime today and was frustrated that there were only two tills open, and that the self checkouts were very busy.
My young daughter was with me so I told her that we will queue at the till rather than use the self checkouts (and the reasons why).
The till manager noticed the queue and asked me to come over to a till and he would log on and serve me. We got chatting and he said he’s under instruction only to open up another (3rd) till if the queues start to get big. We chatted and agreed about staff losing jobs and technology taking over, cashless society etc.
So that’s what we all we have to do to combat this new trend.
Stand your ground and queue and encourage others to do the same.

I Want to applaud every soul who silently and quietly said NO in Bradley Stoke Tesco yesterday, who took the time to queue to be served and not be forced to the new self serve . pic.twitter.com/uaoyQdE9Jp
