Who is Mick Lynch?
Mick Lynch is a trade unionist and the current general secretary of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) in the United Kingdom. He was elected to this position in May 2021, succeeding Bob Crow, who passed away in 2014.
Lynch had previously served as the union’s assistant general secretary and played a prominent role in a number of high-profile disputes and strikes involving railway workers, including those over pay, job security, and working conditions. As general secretary, he continues to advocate for the rights and interests of RMT members and for the improvement of public transport services in the UK.
