Dorset ADHD is a voluntary organisation that provides support to parents, carers and individuals living with ADHD-Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

In 2008 Dorset ADHD Support Group requested a Scrutiny on services for those with ADHD and their families through Dorset County Council and from this the Dorset ADHD Strategy Development Group was established. However these meetings soon ended without reason and now through the Dorset ADHD Support groups persistence, there has now been a meeting re-scheduled for September 2012.

Dorset ADHD is represented on the PAN Dorset (Dorset, Poole & Bournemouth) ADHD Strategy Development group alongside key agencies and services and will be attending the September meeting.

We would like to hear from parents, carers and individuals living with ADHD of their experiences (good or bad) to enable us to raise matters on their behalf.

For example, we have had concerns raised with regards to transition from CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) to Adult Community Mental Health services and little or no services for adults with ADHD with services failing to implement the NICE(National Institute Clinical Excellence) Clinical Guidelines (CG72) for ADHD.  https://www.nice.org.uk/CG72
