Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after a high value watch was stolen during a robbery in Highcliffe.
The victim, a man aged in his 70s, was returning to his car in a car park in Stanley Road at around 12.45pm on Saturday 17 July 2021 when he was approached by a woman, who took a Rolex watch from his left wrist.
The woman made off in the direction of the Co-op on Lymington Road and was last seen heading to the car park to the rear of the store.
She is described as having a tanned complexion, around five feet six to five feet eight inches tall and of slim build with shoulder-length black hair. She had a silver hair clip with a black clasp at the back of her hair and was wearing black trousers and a floral pattern shirt.
The incident left the victim with bruising to his left hand.
This is the latest in a series of reports of Rolex watches being targeted in robberies, with further incidents reported including robberies at the Ferndown Golf Club on Wednesday 14 July 2021 and in High Street, Wimborne on Thursday 15 July 2021.
Police Constable Jim Perks, of Christchurch police, said: “This watch was of sentimental value to the victim as well as being expensive and we are carrying out a number of enquiries to try and identify the woman responsible for this robbery.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed any suspicious activity, or who has any information that might assist our investigation, to please come forward.
“I would also ask that anyone who was driving in the area around the time and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle please checks their footage for anything of relevance.
“Finally, we have had a number of incidents of a similar nature in recent days and I would again remind people to be vigilant and be particularly careful if you are wearing any high value watches or jewellery and are approached in suspicious circumstances.”
