Anti racist campaigners faced up to the far right racist group Patriotic Alternative on Portland in Dorset, on Saturday 9th September. Representing the decent people of the borough of Weymouth and Portland and across the nation they did us all proud.

As The Smiths state in their song ‘I Know it’s Over’ it takes guts to be gentle and kind, especially when facing up to the mongers of hate. And as can be seen below the anti racists won the day.

Final score: Sixty of us, twelve of the Patriotic Alternative.

What is Patriotic Alternative?

Patriotic Alternative is a far-right, white nationalist organization based in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 2019 by Mark Collett, a former member of the British National Party (BNP), and Laura Towler. Patriotic Alternative espouses a range of far-right ideologies, including white supremacy and ethnonationalism.

The organisation’s goals include the promotion of what it considers to be the native British culture and the preservation of what it perceives as the “ethnic and cultural heritage” of the British Isles. They oppose immigration, multiculturalism, and what they see as the dilution of the white British identity.

Patriotic Alternative has faced criticism and controversy for its extreme views and has been accused of promoting hate speech and xenophobia. It has organised events and campaigns, including protests and community outreach efforts, to spread its message.

Back to the demonstration against the racists:

As far as we were aware, three members of the racially charged No to the Barge group turned up to have a look but didn’t join.

An image of at least one is below:

Forty of us stayed for two and a half hours in the heat, chanting, dancing and giving speeches.

The final straw for the Patriotic Alternative neo-Nazis was when a beautiful person from Portland brought us water and ice lollies and they packed up and left the Island!

Sadly, a couple of neo Nazi supporters, reportedly from the local area, did join the racist sewer rats and hell awaits these human faeces.

Now we need to make next week’s South West TUC backed Unity demo as big as possible to scrap the barge and see off the hatred and division locally.

Together we can unite against the hate.

Sewer rats are vermin!
