Appeal after man seriously hurt in Bournemouth

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a reported assault outside a Bournemouth bar that left a man seriously injured.

At around 3am today, Sunday 18 November 2018, an altercation occurred outside Revolution in Old Christchurch Road involving door staff and a group of men who had been ejected from the premises.

A 28-year-old man reportedly went to intervene in the incident and was allegedly punched in the head by a member of the door staff.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious head injury.

A man aged in his 20s from Poole was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Detective Constable Dave Pearce, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident and I am keen to hear from anyone with information that can assist our investigation.

“I understand there were a number of people outside Revolution around the time of the altercation and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed it to contact us.”
