The following is not a thorough investigation with clear evidence. It is a partial investigation and a supposition. Why not wait for the former instead of rushing to the latter?

What we know so far is that two adolescents, aged 13 and 14, have been apprehended under suspicion of robbing a Jewish woman in north London.

We know that the victim, a 20-year-old woman from the orthodox Jewish community, endured an assault and had her handbag taken in Stamford Hill on Thursday. The Metropolitan Police reported that she suffered bruising and extreme distress, though she did not require hospitalization after the attack on Rostrevor Avenue around 4:30 p.m.

Detective Sergeant Asli Benson, leading the investigation, expressed concern for the traumatised young woman and assured ongoing support while affirming the positive steps of the recent arrests.

“It was a harrowing ordeal for the victim,” DS Benson stated. “We will ensure she receives the necessary support. Our investigation has been thorough, and these arrests mark significant progress.”

Highlighting the apparent targeting based on her Jewish identity, DS Benson emphasised an open investigation, acknowledging the possibility of a hate crime. “Given her appearance, it was evident she was Jewish. We are exploring all avenues, treating this as a potential hate crime,” the detective asserted.

Acknowledging heightened tensions in the Jewish community post-terror attacks in Israel and the subsequent rise in antisemitic incidents in London, DS Benson underscored the community’s understandable concerns.

The police identified the suspects through CCTV footage, which indicated they were attired in school uniforms. Collaboration between detectives, school officers, staff, and information provided by the public facilitated the apprehension.

The girls were arrested around 12 p.m. on Saturday in Haringey on suspicion of robbery and remain in police custody pending further inquiries.

The police, at a time of tension, should surely be very careful. Their account so far suggests they are set on stoking tensions. One can only ask ‘why?’
