Bournemouth employees can once again compete against each other, as the town’s biggest cycling competition returns this September.
Now in its second year, Bournemouth will host Momentum Cycle Challenge, a free and fun workplace competition which aims to get as many employees as possible to get out and about on their bikes.
If you work for a company based in Bournemouth then you can win some fantastic prizes just by riding a bike for as little as 10 minutes between the 8 and 28 September.
Councillor Michael Filer, Cabinet Member for Transport said, “We’re trying to encourage more people to cycle in and around Bournemouth, as part of the town’s largest travel campaign.
“The Momentum Cycle Challenge is a fantastic way to get more people on their bikes, whether you’re new to cycling or already enjoy cycling for work or leisure purposes. I would encourage any Bournemouth employee to join the Challenge and enjoy the benefits of riding a bike.”
The Momentum Cycle Challenge works by participants also encouraging friends and colleagues to cycle. Those who take part simply log their ride online at www.lovetoride.net and the team with the highest participation in their category wins the Challenge. As an extra incentive, those who encourage non-cyclists to take part will automatically be rewarded with free cinema tickets.
Lee Reynolds, Challenge Manager for Bournemouth said, “It’s fantastic to see Momentum returning to Bournemouth this year. The great thing about the Challenge, is that it’s not about how far or how often you cycle, you can ride whenever or wherever you like. And with some great prizes up for grabs, there’s no excuse not to get on your bike.”
If your company is not signed up to the Challenge, they can contact Lee Reynolds by emailing [email protected] or phoning07850 631335.
