Officers investigating a suspected arson in Ferndown are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 11.30pm on Sunday 15 May 2022 in relation to a fire that caused damage to a vehicle parked on a driveway outside a property in New Road as well as damage to the area surrounding the front door. There were no reports of any injuries.

Following enquiries by officers and liaison with the fire service, it is believed the fire was started deliberately.

Detective Constable Lianne Williamson, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into this incident and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area on the night of Sunday 15 May 2022 to please contact us.

“I would also appeal to residents with home CCTV systems and motorists with dashcams who were in the vicinity to please check their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”
