Event: A talk by leading Civil Rights lawyer Clive Stafford Smith, entitled: Which is less likely to achieve truth: the American or the British justice system? How far have we come since the Tolpuddle Martyrs were tried in Shire Hall?

Event: Justice Cafe: Surveying Greenham Common.

Yvonne Marshall (from Southampton University) and Chris Brown will be giving a talk entitled: ‘Justice Café: Surveying Greenham Common’. Chris will reminisce about his childhood growing up with the peace camp on their doorstep and of the mediations between his father, a local councillor, and the Greenham women. Since the camp was disbanded, Yvonne has used archaeological practice to record the site and capture the evidence of this powerful but temporary settlement.

Event: Shire Hall’s Free Summer Family Activities.

Fun family creative arts and crafts activities for families inspired by stories from Shire Hall’s amazing history and Dorset’s farming heritage. Activities are self-directed, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. For ages up to 11 years. These events are free.

When: 7 days a week from Thursday 26th July to Monday 3rd September 10am – 4pm. New activities every Monday.
