Staff efforts to help the bereaved have been recognised. 

Workers at Weymouth Crematorium have been presented with two awards by the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management.

The Greenspace and Bereavement Services Team, who are part of Weymouth & Portland Borough Council, have received the Gold Standard in the Charter for the Bereaved Assessment Process for Cremation and the Bronze Standard in the Charter for the Bereaved Assessment Process for Burial.

Kate Wheller, Community Facilities Briefholder at Weymouth & Portland Borough Council, said: “I am delighted the hard work of staff has been recognised. It is good to have the high quality of the service we offer celebrated.”

Weymouth & Portland Borough Council runs Weymouth Crematorium which shares a six acre site with Weymouth Cemetery.
