A press call will take place at11am on Tuesday 18 Marchat theWeymouth Pavilion. Exhibitors and entertainers from this year’s show will be joined by representatives from Weymouth & Portland Borough Council events team and Cllr Ian Bruce, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Tourism and Culture brief holder.
The Best of Dorset Show is a free event open from 11am to 4pm taking place at the Weymouth Pavilionon Sunday 30 March.
Now in its 14thyear, the show promises to be another high energy occasion, offering visitors great entertainment and information on attractions and events that can be enjoyed throughout Dorset in 2014.
Popular features of the 2014 show will include the Tall Ship Pelican, Nothe Fort Re-enactment Group, Dorset Volunteer Centre and the Avon Beauty Bus.
There will be a full programme of live entertainment on the Weymouth Pavilion stage throughout the day with performances from Punch & Judy, WOW, Ed Hintz, Let’s Dance, Dorset for Singing and an Asda fashion show. There will also be lots of fun for youngsters with Captain Stupid the clown.
Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Tourism and Culture brief holder, Cllr Ian Bruce said: “The Best of Dorset Show really showcases all that is great about Dorset. The event offers businesses and attractions a unique opportunity to promote their services and boost their business in 2014. Exhibitors will have a chance to meet their customers and also gain new ones.

Exhibitors booked for this year’s show are: Abbotsbury Tourism Ltd, Asda, Avon Beauty Bus, Blue Mile, Epic Print, Just Racing / Challenge Weymouth, Let’s Dance, MV Freedom, Nothe Fort, RSPB, SLM Weymouth Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre, The Tank Museum, The Utility Warehouse Discount Club, Treasure Trails Partners, Weymouth Bay Holiday Park, Weymouth BID Ltd, Weymouth District Model Engineering Society, Weymouth and Portland Fairtrade Forum, Weymouth and Portland Scouts, WOW Youth Theatre and Weymouth and Portland Model Boat Club.
The theme for the Best of Dorset Show is ‘Volunteers’. The event will recognise the impact and importance of volunteers and use the show to promote the many great opportunities to volunteer in the county, supported by the Dorset Volunteer Centre.
